WiiKnow ("WiiKnow", "we", "us", or "our") provides a mobile safety app that helps users identify suspicious calls, SMS messages, links, pictures, and scam reports. This Privacy Policy explains what information the WiiKnow app collects, how it is used, and the choices available to users.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect or process:

• Account information: email address, phone number, display name, profile photo, authentication identifiers, and basic profile settings.
• Scam check content: phone numbers, SMS text, URLs, images or screenshots, descriptions, and reports that you choose to scan, upload, or submit.
• Background protection events: call or SMS risk results, alert category, risk score, timestamps, and short alert summaries so the app can show alerts and activity history.
• Community reports: report text, uploaded media, report category, timestamps, and related activity that you submit to the community features.
• Device and app data: app version, device operating system, diagnostics, crash information, network status, and similar technical data used to operate and secure the app.

SMS, Call Screening, and Caller ID Permissions

WiiKnow asks for sensitive Android permissions only to provide scam protection features:

• Receive SMS: used to detect potentially harmful SMS messages and show scam warnings. SMS content is used for scam analysis and alert history. WiiKnow does not use SMS content for advertising.
• Call screening / caller ID role: used to evaluate incoming calls and warn about suspicious or scam callers. When enabled by the user, Android may provide call details needed for screening.
• Notifications: used to show alerts about suspicious calls, SMS messages, and app activity.
• Display over other apps: used to show an urgent warning overlay for risky incoming calls when the user has granted this permission.

Users can disable these permissions at any time in Android Settings. Some protection features may stop working if permissions are disabled.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide scam detection, caller ID, SMS alerts, URL checks, picture checks, and safety recommendations.
• Save user activity, alert history, reports, profile settings, whitelist entries, and blacklist entries.
• Provide support and respond to user requests.
• Improve app reliability, safety, abuse prevention, and security.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our app policies.

Third-Party Services

WiiKnow uses third-party services to operate core features. These may include Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage or related Firebase services, Google Sign-In, Cloudinary image upload, OpenAI or OpenRouter AI analysis, Google Safe Browsing, VirusTotal, PhishTank, OpenPhish, and Tawk.to support chat if configured.

When a feature requires one of these providers, relevant content may be sent to that provider for processing. For example, a URL submitted for checking may be sent to URL reputation services, and an image submitted for picture analysis may be sent to image hosting or AI analysis services.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the app, when required by law, to protect users or the public, to prevent fraud or abuse, or with your direction when you submit public community content.

Data Retention

We keep account information, alert history, reports, and settings for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain safety records. Users may request deletion of their account data by contacting us.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

WiiKnow is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

Your Choices

You can update profile settings in the app, control Android permissions in device settings, stop using optional scan features, or contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your information.
